Some people have different dress styles in their lives. That is the freedom to express yourself. As I will write in my article about, Lolita Fashion in Japan. Why did I discuss this? I don't know ... I think they look cute and beautiful. Maybe this is quite contrary to me who likes Gothic fashion. But isn't it fun to like new things. As long as it's positive why not.

Lolita (Rorīta fasshon) is a fashion subculture from Japan that is highly influenced by Victorian and Edwardian children's clothing and styles from the Rococo period. Lolita fashion started in Japan and has since gained popularity across Asia and parts of the Western world such as Spain, Britain and the United States. This clothing subculture can be categorized into three main substyles :
Gothic, Classic and Sweet. Many other substyles such as Sailor, Country, Hime (Princess), Ero, Guro, Oriental, Punk, Shiro (White), kuro (Black) and Steampunk also exist. Interesting right?

"Lolita Fashion - Japan’s Kawaii Trend"

What is considered beautiful or cute in Lolita fashion is separate from mainstream tastes and trends. It’s about dressing for your own enjoyment, not dressing for others.

The main feature of Lolita fashion is the volume of the skirt, the skirt can be either bell-shaped or A-shaped. Components of the Lolita wardrobe consist mainly of a blouse (long or short sleeves) with a skirt or a dress, which usually comes to the knees. Lolita clothes are usually also combined with fashion wigs and other headwear such as hair bows or a bonnet.

TYPES OF LOLITA :

SWEET LOLITA
Sweet Lolita have a preference for an aesthetic that is sweet and feminine. This means that they are more drawn to lighter colors and pastels. Pink usually features in their makeup and clothes accompanied by pearls and bows. They are certainly the most girly among another Lolita.

Sweet  Lolita

GOTHIC LOLITA
Gothic Lolita wear darker colored dresses especially black. The Lolita element is reflected by the poofy bell shaped skirt, ruffles and over the top accessories. Black Stockings and Garter are also part of this look. Unlike the Goth style of the west, Gothic Lolitas don’t wear dark makeup like black lipstick and don’t powder their faces to make it look overly pale.

Gothic Lolita

CLASSIC LOLITA
The Classic Lolita represents a more mature version of Lolita style. These lolitas with their elegant hats and dresses appear to have walked straight out of a Victorian era but with much shorter skirts. This Lolitas prefer pastel colors specially cream colored dresses. The skirt in this look is A-line rather than bell-shaped. Overall Classic Lolita  style is a subdued form of Lolita which gives more importance to elegance rather than the cute factor.

ARISTOCRAT LOLITA
(Something very luxurious, sounds like someone who lived in the kingdom)
Aristrocrat Lolita is a more subdued expression of Lolita style favoring elegance and sophistication. The dresses in this style are generally darker in color and generally don’t feature the extravagant frills and laces instead sticking to straighter cuts and simpler silhouttes.

Aristocrat Lolita

PUNK LOLITA
Punk Lolita look usually features punk elements such as leather belts with chains, clothes with the ripped effect, safety pins, studs and tartan blended with the feminine and sweet look of Lolita.

Punk Lolita

KURO AND SHIRO LOLITA
These are two Lolita styles are monochromatic styles. In that, Kuro and Lolita style means that the dress and the accessories are all black and Shiro Lolita is the same but the color is white. Sometimes they look similar, basically they are only separated by white and black.

Kuro and Shiro Lolita

WA AND QI LOLITA
The Wa and Qi Lolitas incorporate the traditional dress elements of the Japanese and Chinese cultures respectively while still adhering to the Lolita aeshtetic.

Wa Lolita (Wa Lolita has elements of traditional Japanese clothing)

Qi Lolita (Qi Lolita has elements of traditional Chinese clothing)

COSPLAY LOLITA
Some Lolita styles lend themselves easily to cosplay because of the style elements that are part of the look. Cosplay Lolita is a lolita outfit that is added with certain accessories such as Cat Ears, Rabbit Ears or other. Cosplay lolita is usually used during cosplay contests.

Then what's different about Cosplay Lolita and Fashion Lolita?

In my opinion, Cosplay Lolita is the addition of various unique accessories into Fashion Lolita clothing. While lolita fashion is genuine lolita clothing without the addition of accessories, only the mode is updated.

Fashion Lolita

PIRATE LOLITA
As the name, Pirate Lolita is based on clothes and accessories of a typical pirate in the movies. So the accessories that go along with this look are eye patches, swords, feathers in the cap and pirate hats.

Pirate Lolita

STEAMPUNK LOLITA
The Steampunk Lolita inspired by the Steampunk trend of the west. So, this Lolita wearing a metallic things and leather accessories paired with shorter, puffier skirts.

Steampunk Lolita

GURO LOLITA
Guro Lolita is a gory and grotesque style. This look which is most suitable for Halloween Day, blood splatters on a sweet Lolita dress, blood soaked teddy bears as acessories and other elements that represent a sense of horror.

Guro Lolita

That is my article about the Lolita fashion in Japan. They are quite creative, creating with Lolita clothes. Like Cosplay Lolita and Guro Lolita. Cute face of Japanese girl harmoniously combined with Lolita clothes. By writing this article I gained knowledge about fashion. At first I liked Gothic Fashion. But after knowing this, I was also interested in Lolita clothing. I also thought that Lolita clothing was only one type, but it turned out they were quite numerous and varied. If there are incorrect words and information that I submit, I'm sorry. I only write something interesting so that I can add to the knowledge that I have.
